"C" is our common cause in the struggle for life "

On July 28 and 29, 2011, in Lviv from 4.00. to 7.00 pm within the framework of the action "C" is our common cause in the struggle for life " employees of the CF “Salus” mobile ambulatory were providing voluntary rapid testing for hepatitis C and B. The mobile ambulatory was located on Svoboda Avenue, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
The action was jointly carried out by All-Ukrainian NGO "Foundation for Medical Law and Bioethics in Ukraine" and Salus Foundation and supported by ICF "International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine" and the International Fund "Renaissance." On the eve of the action ten billboards with information about the event were placed in the streets of the city.
Twenty volunteers, dressed in blue shirts with the logo of the action, encouraged passers-by to read printed leaflets about the modes of hepatitis transmission, symptoms and consequences of the disease. During two days 80 persons were tested at the mobile ambulatory. In 14 cases hepatitis C was diagnosed. Employees of the mobile ambulatory informed the persons with positive results where to turn for further examination and treatment.
