In city Lviv the symbol of breast cancer awareness was made of flowers

On May 23, 2012 in Lviv a breast cancer awareness action under the title "For Health Tomorrow
- Take care of yourself today!" was carried out at the Market Square. This action was a part of the
national breast cancer awareness campaign in Ukraine. The pavement before Lviv city hall was
decorated by a pink ribbon − an international symbol of breast cancer awareness, made from pink
flowers of begonia.
Planters with flowering begonias were given to girls and women with a booklet with information
about prevention and treatment of breast cancer. "Breast cancer is an urgent problem in Ukraine.
This action is going on in different cities of Ukraine: Odesa, Khmelnits’kyi, Vinnytsa, Kharkiv.
We delivered lectures and informed people about the disease, risk factors, where to undergo
examinations ", said the coordinator of the charity fund "Salus "project Ala Konyk.
